General
- Iron(II)
sulfate or ferrous sulfate is the chemical compound with the
formula (FeSO4).
- Ferrous
Sulphate is most commonly encountered as the blue-green
heptahydrate.
- Ferrous
Sulfate (crystal) occurs as whitish green crystals or crystalline
powder.
- Ferrous
Sulfate (dry) occurs as a gray-white powder.
Process
- Four kinds
of methods were used to prepare ferrous sulfate liposomes and
the most suitable method was selected according to the
Encapsulation Efficiency.
- The effect
of hydrating media on the encapsulation efficiency was studied
by encapsulating the ferrous sulfate solution with different
hydrating media.
- Ferrous
sulfate liposomes were prepared slightly differently from empty
liposomes.
- Ferrous
sulphate, a waste product in titanium white production at the
Chemical Plant, was subjected to microbiological oxidation with
Thiobacillus ferrooxidans bacteria.
Application
-
Industrially, ferrous sulfate is mainly used as a precursor to
other iron compounds.
- In
horticulture it is used as a lawn conditioner and moss killer.
- Ferrous
Sulphate is a reducing agent, mostly for the reduction of
chromate in cement.
- Ferrous
sulfate is used to fortify foods and to treat iron-deficiency
anemia.
-
Woodworkers use ferrous sulfate solutions to color maple wood
a silvery hue.
Report
-
Ascorbic acid was used as an anti-oxidant to protect the
ferrous ion against oxidation.
-
Comparison of bio-availability of ferrous sulphate and iron
polyma tose for haemoglobin synthesis in rats and humans.
- The
efficacy and tolerability of oral polymaltose complex in
comparison to ferrous sulphate in the treatment of iron
deficiency anaemia in regular blood donors .
- The
toxicity of ferrous sulphate, with particular reference to
fibrosis and stricturing of the stomach.
